The Research On The Cairn Graves In The Mausoleum Of Kogury(?) In Ji'an

This thesis is based on "The mausoleum of KoguryÇ’in Ji'an--the investigative report about the mausoleum of KoguryÇ’in Ji'an from 1990 to 2003", attempting to give a general review on three aspects--the shape, the excavated relics and the distribution of the locus of the large cairn graves and finally to presume the buriers of these tombs by the way of grouping and stages. There are eight parts in this thesis.The first part is the foreword. Here is the brief introduction about the history of KoguryÇ’and the situation of the distribution of graves.The second part is about the research of hictory and actuality. Here is the review of the historical research on the cairn graves in the mausoleum of KoguryÇ’and the summarization about the different points from scholars, at the same time pointing out the significance of the further research on the cairn graves in the mausoleum of KoguryÇ’.The third part is about the configuration and the shape of the graves. Here gives the uniform partition of the configuration and the shape of the large cairn tombs introduced in "The mausoleum of KoguryÇ’in Ji'an", meanwhile dividing the cairn graves of the mausoleum of KoguryÇ’into three types-- graves with stairs and walls made in stone, tombs with stairs, walls and altars made in stone and graves with stairs and altars in chambers made in stone, judging by the outside shape and the inside configuration of the tombs.The forth part is about the excavated relics. Here gives the analyses about the relics discovered in the large cairn graves introduced in "The mausoleum of KoguryÇ’in Ji'an", including pan tiles, flat tiles, eave tiles, bricks and tiles with carven words and signs, iron arrowhead, iron knives, harness, girdles, linchpin and crockery.
