On the basis of Krashen's Monitor Model, Long's Interaction Hypothesis, Schmidt's Noticing Hypothesis, Swain's Output Hypothesis, and the learning of the information processing system, this paper presents the thesis of introducing current information to China's college English class and analyses its benefits, implement and effects.Introducing current information to college English class benefits college English language learning and teaching. It is one way to vivify foreign language teaching and learning without violating the systematic language teaching process. It not only makes students' English learning keep pace with the dynamic society, but also enlarges their English learning time and space. Besides, it raises students' English contact frequency, makes students effectively notice English structures and activates students' learning interests.Introducing current information to college English class is feasible. Teachers and college students are able to get lots of pieces of English information through various media. According to the results of the questionnaires targeting on nearly 800 students from four colleges in Changchun, most teachers and college students show their positive attitudes toward introducing current information to class. Besides, the implement of adding current information to college English class is flexible, which mainly concentrates on the person who introduces the information in class and the way of introduction. After a period of introducing current information in college English class, its effects lies in the following three aspects: more and more students actively participating in English class, more and more students reading English issues after class, more and more students setting up associations between English in and out of the classroom. Those phenomena prove that introducing current information to China's college English class does benefit China's college English teaching and learning. This idea is worth exploration.
