Since the publication of Henri Holec's Autonomy and Foreign Language Learning in 1981, the concept of learner-centered has been set up. How to cultivate LA becomes the commonsense of educators and researchers. Once the learners have the ability to learn autonomously, they will be able to master new knowledge, new technology, face new challenges and tasks. In the future, the illiteracy are not those who have no knowledge, but those who have not mastered the way to learn English, as an international language, is now being used more and more in every area. Thus, to cultivate learner autonomy (LA) in English learning is urgent and necessary.The efficiency of EFL learning is largely determined by student's learning attitude and method. This paper presents a study of learner autonomy training in college. It starts with an argument that education and instruction should be aimed at cultivating learner autonomy among English learners through the training of learning strategies. Then, after an analysis of the existing level of self-regulation of some ordinary institutes in Liaoning province, it demonstrates a two-semester study to cultivate learner autonomy among college students. What is being advocated here is the development of learner autonomy through learner training.Can students be cultivated into learner autonomy? Whether the cultivation of learner autonomy can improve the students' English learning achievement? This thesis aims to answer the questions in Chapter IV by carrying out an experiment in Grade Two in LiaoNing Normal University. The experiment was done in one year in two classes.
