This thesis attempt to deeply analyze and explore the performance subjects and language forms of contemporary urban ink-portrait painting on the basis of the in-depth cognition to the development of contemporary urban ink-portrait painting, the produce background and mentality.And further explore what contemporary nature should urban ink-portrait painting has in the current multi-culture context and popular culture environment. This has great positive significance to understand the current status, the development and location in contemporary Chinese painting of urban ink-portrait painting. The Final point is to think about the relevancy between contemporary urban ink-portrait painting and contemporary culture.This thesis is on the basis of the contemporary evolvement and modern experience of contemporary urban ink-portrait painting. And it would be dissertated in four parts.Since this is a thesis on art and contemporary social relations articles, therefore the need for this first part of the venation of contemporary urban ink-portrait painting, done in a clear exposition, including the research of its development process and the social context. The aim is to deduce that the development of urban ink-portrait painting is an inevitable choice for the times.Because urban ink-portrait painting developed from traditional ink-portrait painting and realistic ink-portrait painting, in order to more thoroughly analyze urban ink-portrait painting, the second part of this thesis used a comparative analysis summarized law to compare and analyze the similarities and differences of contemporary urban ink-portrait painting, traditional urban ink-portrait painting and realism urban ink-portrait painting in the horizontal and vertical dimensions.
