Diplomatic English, with the increase of the international affairs, has become more and more important in today's society. Studies and researches on it are thriving and rampant. I t is used not only in international affairs but also personal communications. And in this thesis, its application in common communication is studied as a major issue. The fields that it involves cover from stylistics to pragmatics, cross-culture and many others.With the development of international trade communication, another form ofbusiness communication-----negotiation, comes into the sight of our research. Tonegotiate successfully, we have to learn the disciplines and rules about it. Thus it calls for a master of diplomatic English. For it can solve the problems about the choices of the form, formal or informal, and can eliminate the cultural differences to a great degree.Diplomatic English, as a way of communication, can be understood and explained better with the help of Pragmatics and sociolinguistics for the reason that the fulfillment of diplomatic English depends on the context and implied meaning of the language as well as the current situation and personal background of the speaker. Analyzing the diplomatic English in Pragmatics or sociolinguistics way, we can understand more than the "surface meaning". What's more, we can use proper wording according to the situation.
