As a kind of political thoughts, the conservatism has come out in later 18th century in England. Since it has come out, caused the strong echo and been widely disseminated, so that it has become modern one of three big mainstreams ideological trends.Edmund Burke is the conservatism founder. As a Britain statesman, Burke has been influenced by Britain's continuously conservative tradition, which was regardless of politics, the society and the thoughts aspect. And also under the suddenly violent French Revolution's vibration, he forms his own conservatism thoughts through the critique to French Revolution.Burke's conservatism ideological content is rich. Above the empiricism philosophy foundation, Burke formed his conservatism basic creed which was venerating the tradition, and maintaining the order. Under this creed's instruction, on politics, Burke opposed the French enlightenment thinker's natural rights, proposed his own human rights view, and loved freedom deeply; Proposed organic social ideas, approved of reform, opposed revolution liked French; Advocated the aristocracy, opposed the democracy and the equality; Emphasized close relation between legal and custom and so on. On the religion, to maintain order and stability, Burke criticized the French enlightenment thinker's atheism thought, persisted the religion is human's natural disposition; Criticized the religious policy of French, persisted national religion system liked England. Then esthetics aspect, Burke has the attention feeling experience, the rich romantic color empiricism esthetics thought is its empiricism philosophy constituent. In Burke's conservatism ideology, the political thinking is the center also is a main body.Burke's conservatism thought was for maintaining Britain's political system, the principle and the social order. His thought not only has the significant influence to many Europe and America's country, but also has the more profound model significance to China who is just on the social reforming time.
