Lin Gudu is a famous poet in Fujian province between the late Ming and the early Qing Dynasty. Lin Gudu who lived in Nanjing city and called himself survivor after the downfall of the Ming Dynasty, was called " Learned Scholar of Southeast China" by people of his times. Lin Gudu entrusted the choice of his works to the care of Shizheng Wang in 1664. "Maozhi Lin's Selected Poems" in two volumes was revised and finalized by Wang Shizheng, which included 240 pieces of poems of Lin's early works. This paper has a complete and systematic research on his works, engages in textual research of his life, his family background and his works, especially expounded and proved the year of his death which was debated intensely in the academic circles. Based on " Lin Maozhi's Selected Poems", the thesis analyzes his selections and the selecting standards of Wang Shizheng, and investigates Lin's early creation. Here we compile scattered poems which were not included in " Lin Maozhi's Selected Poems", classifie the scattered poems and their times and focused on the excursion and the writing and replying in regulated verse between friends of Lin Gudu before and after the downfall of the Ming Dynasty, this paper investigates the significance of scattered poems in the year of Wanli and Lin's creation and style before and after the downfall of the Ming Dynasty. This paper generally restores his creation to the original state and has an overall grasp of the features and changes of the style of his poems.
