Genesis · the Garden of Eden is an important part of the Bible, which has not only important religious value but the significance of culture and literature. The value and significance embody not only in the Christian society but also in other societies related with it. Since the Tang dynasty, China has close contact with the Christianity and the Bible. Through the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties till modern and contemporary times, Genesis · the Garden of Eden experienced a process of evolving in China. In the long process, it has clashed with native culture of china, developed and melted with each other, extending as well as expanding its value of religion, culture and literature.The article consists of two parts. The first part, with the title of Genesis · the Garden of Eden and the Western world, including three chapters, from the spiritual belief, art creation and literature narrative, etc. reviews the value of religion, art culture and literature, etc. of Genesis · the Garden of Eden and displays its significance in the western society. The second part, with the title of Genesis · the Garden of Eden and society of China, with the clue of time, tells the process of development of Genesis in the early, modern and contemporary times of China By analyzing the process, we see how the western Christian culture exists and develops in the language circumstances of Confucious civilization.
