The object of my thesis is aesthetic self-discipline, which is consisting of four parts:In the preface, firstly, I define the meaning of my research: Instead of a simple debate of academy, it is directly related to our present living condition! Then, I indicate the detailed way of thinking and writing: Being guided by the "disenchantment" principle which is come from Max Weber, I'll take both the history and logic paths, with modernity and the esthetic modernity as a background. I mainly choose the expansion of esthetic self-discipline in modern time and the resulted esthetic self-discipline tension as a proper point, in order to take into full consideration the experience of aesthetic self-discipline in modern time.The task of Chapter 1 is to research the aesthetic self-discipline itself. By a historically reviewing of the concept itself, we can draw a conclusion: The self-discipline is another expression of the diversification of cultural value field occurring in the transformation from a traditional society to a modern one, namely, a pure concept of modernity.Chapter 2 makes a formal investigation for aesthetic self-discipline.
