The public space means a kind of public district where the public shapes public opinion through equal association and discussion. The public space reflected the social culture of a region, and it is the direct performance of local economy, politics and culture. The political culture designates the value inclination and pattern of behavior of a political system. There exists a problem that how the new political system adapts to current political culture. Public opinion expresses opinions of the public towards current political activities. This thesis tries to study the emergence and evolution of public space in late Stuart London and its impact on English political culture.After the revolution and the civil war, in the middle 17th century ideas theories introspecting reflection resulted in new political ideas and theories. These new political theories influenced the political developments of Western Europe and North America. Constitutional politics and religious policies evolved in the 17th century laid the foundation for the constitutional monarchy and religious tolerance. In the 18th century public space in London experienced the structured transformation which helps it exercise a political function. After the abolishment of the censorship in the end of the 17th century, newspapers and magazines developed quickly.
