The thesis mainly discusses the status quo of the application of CALL courseware in College English Teaching. Through her survey, the author aims to find out if the application of CALL courseware could promote English learning.With the reform of College English Teaching going further, more and more universities and colleges take advantage of CALL courseware to assist teaching, with a view to improving students' learning environment as well as promoting students' communicative abilities. Many researchers at home and abroad make research into the application of courseware. They make analysis of many aspects of courseware application from the perspective of constructivism. They aim to discuss how to make good use of courseware to promote English learning. Taking constructivist environment as the criteria for checking, the author makes a survey of the status quo of the application of CALL courseware in Sichuan University from the perspective of students. Through her analysis of the survey, the author aims to discuss the following questions: What is the status quo of CALL courseware application in universities and colleges? Is the application of CALL courseware beneficial to improving English learning environment? Does the application of courseware help students improve their ability in language application? Does the application CALL courseware meet the requirements of the constructivist learning environment? What are the problems with the application? How to improve them?The first chapter makes a review of the development of CALL, the development of CALL courseware and the research in this field. In addition, the author introduces the factors in a constructivist learning environment. The second chapter introduces the background, purpose, and design of the survey.
