The teaching of vocabulary, known as an indispensable part in TCSL (Teaching Chinese as Second Language), is a key part in Chinese teaching. In resent years, "strengthen the vocabulary teaching, weak the grammar teaching" has become the common view in the field of TCSL.As a precious lexical category, Chinese idioms provide students with Chinese wisdom and culture .The acquisition of Chinese idioms can be an important standard for foreign students to judge their Chinese level .However, the teaching of Chinese idioms in TCSL has not been attached enough importance it deserves. According to our statistics, the amount of foreign students' Chinese idioms acquisition is for from the native learners.In this paper, we have researched the foreign students' acquisition of Chinese idioms from the three aspects: Chinese idioms input, output, and error analysis. As for the input, we requested less to the foreigners in Chinese idioms learning which are not adapted to the wide use of idioms in life, overlooked the need of foreigners and underestimated their learning ability. As for the output, foreigners use Chinese idioms much less than the native Chinese learner in the similar level and make many errors in the aspects: idiom form, semestics, grammar, and pragmetics .We believe the present situation of Chinese idioms teaching in TCSL and foreigners' Chinese idioms learning are mainly resulted by the unprecise position to the idiom in TCSL which cause the shortcomings in the HSK, the writing of Chinese teaching material, Chinese idioms teaching and so on.Therefore, we should set up the position of Chinese idioms teaching in the mid-advanced Chinese teaching and attach much importance to it. We argue the performing of Chinese idioms teaching should be from the three aspects: form, semestics, grammar and pragmetics, and adopted all kinds of teaching methods and strategies to promote the Chinese idioms teaching to improve the foreigners' Chinese idioms learning.
