The Study On The Effect Of Imagery Communication Psychotherapy On Drug Abuse

Drug abuse is one of the severe problems nowadays.It could cause several kinds of negative consequences.It has drug addicts suffering heavily from physical and psychological impairment and forces lots of afflictions on the addicts' families and relatives.Besides.crimes related to drug abuse are accountable for many social problems ,which has negative influence on the social safety.Thus, drug rehabilitation, especially Control and Prevention for drug relapse, has aroused the worldwide attention.This study applies a professional psychological counseling method------Imagery CommunicationPsychotherapy to the psychological treatment of drug addicts, which aims to improve the drug addicts's mental health and evaluate the effect of Imagery Communication Psychotherapy in relapse prevention.In this study, the participants were devided into two groups------a female group and a male group.Bothof them accepted intervention of Imagery Communication psychological counseling methods. The mental healthy level and state was interviewed before and after the study with SCL-90 ,BDI and a simple self-made drug addicts' subjective attitudes questionnaire. After the experiment, the analysisi result of SCL-90 in in the female group shows that the average score and sum score has declined obviously , and the score of depression, hostility and other six dimensionalities at the beginning of intervention was higher than that at the end of intervention (P < .05) . The male group's result shows that average score and sum score has declined obviously , and the score of anxiety, obsessive and several other dimensionalities at the beginning of intervention was higher than that at the end of intervention (P< .05).The score of BDI also descreased dramatically after counseling(P<.01). The great differences were also presented in the analysis of self-made addicts' subjective attitudes questionnaire . The results showed that the addicts' confidence in abandoning drugs and hope for the new life has improved obviously. This Imagery Communication psychological counseling methods intervention can help improve the addicts' mental healthy level and their sleep state , meanwhile enhancing their belief in abandoning drugs. Theoretically, it is important to prevent relapse.
