In the history of ancient Chinese literature the number of women writers can be counted easily. Women writers did not have place in literary history. But more and more researches show that many women writers who lived in Ming dynasty and Qing dynasty had great achievements. However, there are few studies on the women writers in the two dynasties. In this thesis I study their writings in the four aspects: women writers' own selves, the opinions of the men writers on women writers, readers' response and the comparative eyeshot. I attach importance to the value of the female "culture" and their status in literary history. Their writings have a great position in the development of the female culture. The writings of literary- talented- women in the two dynasties reveal that they wrote from the perspective of a normal person instead of a woman. Their writings play an important role in female writings in China, even awake the modern and contemporary Chinese female writers.
