"Fan'er" is an evaluative adverb which expresses various kinds of evaluative meanings and has the function of cohesion and coherence. Then in the text, what's the specific characteristic of the coherent function of "fan'er"? Anti-climax is a special pattern, and does it exist initially? There has been no deep and thorough research focusing on this question yet. This dissertation, applying the methods of statistical analysis, tabulation, comparison, described and presented the coherent functions of "fan'er" in text as well as its historical development and change of anti-climax sentences from the synchronic and diachronic angle. The main contents are as below:1. The research of coherent functions of "fan'er" in text.1) Syntactically described the traits of "fan'er", explored the grammatical units linked by "fan'er", and its methods of coherence.2) Semantically summarized two kinds of meaning of "fan'er", and pointed out the effects of coherence.3) Pragmatically analyzed the pragmatic functions.2. The research of development and change of anti-climax from the diachronic angle.1) Explored the evolution of grammaticalization of "fan'er".2) Explored the diachronic development of the expressive pattern of anti-climax meaning.3) Analyzed the cognitive reason of anti-climax pattern.
