In this paper we make a comparison among "quanbu"(全部),"suoyou"(所有) and "yiqie"(一切) by analyzing their semantic characteristics, the restrictions placed on them when they are used as attributive, subject and object, the conditions of exchanging the three and their linguistic categories. The theories and methods we apply include theories of linguistic categorization, frequency effects of usage, soft word-class model and methods of transform analysis, contrast analysis, quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis and so on. We put forward conclusions as follow:1. The common linguistic meaning of the three is summarization, but there are some subtle differences among them. It is the semantic differences that determine their differences in usage.2. "Quanbu" is an adverb-pronoun concurrence. Its major function is being used as an adverb. As a pronoun, it emphasizes the whole thing. Its ability of being used to specify a reference is the best among the three, and it requires that the reference appears directly in the sentence or is implied in the context.3. "Suoyou" is a pronoun. It gives prominence to individual. The possibility of being used to specify the reference is much poorer than "quanbu" but better than "yiqie". Its major function is being used as an attributive. As the head of the object, it can only be modified by an attributive expressing place or attribution.4. "Yiqie" is also a pronoun. It emphasizes particularly on the variety of things. The ability of being used for specifying the reference is the poorest of the three. Its major function is being used as a subject or an object, and it doesn't require the reference appears or is implied in the context.5. The semantic conditions and rules for exchanging the three are summarized.
