A Study Of Comprehension And Use Of The Turning Complex Clause In Chinese By Foreign Students

The Turning complex clause is a very important kind of Chinese complex clauses; comprehension and use are two aspects of the same importance in the second language acquisition. This thesis investigates the acquisition of turning complex clauses by the foreign students from the angle of grammar, semantics and pragmatics.The result reveals that the comprehension of turning complex Chinese clauses is difficult for foreign students. Being able or unable to comprehend is affected by logical relationship, conjunctions, and the scene of dialogues. This thesis analyses the main reasons by the way of giving examples. At the same time, we investigate the error in the aspect of use. By means of the statistics, we make a calculation of the foreign students' corpus; we sort out the kinds, and put forward the distribution of the error.At the last paragraph, we suggest the teaching methods, hoping that they are helpful for the Chinese teaching as a Second Language according to the situation of the comprehension and error.
