This study intends to investigate the overall situation of English learning anxiety and metacognitive strategies employed by university students to explore the relationship between them so as to guide our college English teachers to concern themselves with students'anxiety and enforce metacognitive strategy training to reduce their English learning anxiety. The whole thesis consists of six chapters. Chapter one is an introduction to the whole dissertation. Chapter two is a literature review in which related theories about foreign language anxiety and learning strategies are reviewed. Chapter three is the experimental part including research questions, subjects, instruments and procedures of this study. Chapter four is data analysis. Chapter five is a detailed discussion of the research results. Chapter six is a conclusion including main findings, implications and limitations of this study.
