With taking more then one hundred domestic and foreign hotels for example, and comparing their fabric carpet materials, weaving techniques, pattern and color, this essay makes a conclusion about aesthetics rules of choosing fabric carpet in modern hotel interior space, and predicts the future trend of using fabric carpet decoration in hotel interior space, and the future trend of the use of fabric and textile decoration in interior space. This essay provides a reference for interior designers and fabric designers. As a result of study, it can be concluded:Firstly, most floors in hotel tends to be covered with machine-made carpets, only a few covered with hand-made carpets made of the wool and silk. The abstract geometric figures are widely used as the fabric carpet pattern. There would be a huge market potential for the Chinese traditional patterns and the organization on fabric carpet. In terms of color, with so many kinds of colors, there are many breakthroughs to be created for the use of fabric carpet decoration in the future hotel interior space design.Secondly, as to materials, weaving techniques, pattern and color, with different operating characteristics, different hotels have different taste in choosing decorative fabric carpets.Thirdly, it will be more diversified of fabric and textile decoration in future: (1) it will be well accepted that the interior fabric and textile patterns should be simple and geometrical. (2) Today, since the Chinese traditional culture is attached great importance to, people will pay more and more attention to the traditional weaving skills, patterns and dyeing techniques. (3) With an urgent attention paid on human living environment, safety and health, the environmental-friendly fabric and textile decoration will be greatly demanded. Therefore the business of fabric and textile decoration will be much flourished.
