The theories of SLA (second language acquisition) and educational psychology, English teachers'teaching experiences, and a series of personality traits that art students manifest, provide the foundation and evidence for the composition of this thesis. There are 240 students participating in the investigation. Half of them are from PLA (Plastic Art) School and the other half are from PEA (Performance Art) School. The correlative statistics are analyzed through the use of window software—SPSS (Statistical Program for Social Sciences). The findings are as follows:1. The perception styles are different between PLA and PEA schools: Music students have stronger auditory preference than those of other departments. Fine Arts students have more hands-on preference than the students of other departments.2. The personality styles are dramatically different between the two schools: PLA students are mostly introverted. PEA students are mostly extroverted.3. The styles of information receiving between PLA and PEA are significantly different: PLA students are closure-oriented. PEA students are open.4. The correlation of learning styles of male and female students is: female students have stronger auditory and open learning styles than male ones.It is recommended that teachers should try to match their teaching styles with learners'learning styles. Simultaneously, the diversity of learning styles should be encouraged. Teaching activities should be student-centered. Moreover, classes should be designed in accordance with students'specialized subjects and individual characteristics.
