This thesis is a case research about The Anthology of the Chinese New Vernacular Literature 1917~1927. The author elaborates the compilation as well as the classic and profound influence it brings with emphasis, focusing on two main characteristics of "multiple-dimensionality and opening"and "historical objectivity".The first chapter is on the production of this work. It begins with the discussion of the historical and cultural context in 1930's respectively. Then it analyzes the production, perfection and realization of the work Anthology of the Chinese New Vernacular Literature 1917~1927.The thesis discusses the compiling strategy in the second and third chapter. The second chapter discusses the overall construction of The Anthology of New Vernacular Literature 1917~1927 as well as the influence on the history of compiling of modern Chinese literature, which is from three aspects: stage-dividing methods of modern Chinese literary history , internal constitution way as well as the literary style classification .The Anthology of New Vernacular Literature 1917~1927 not only has set up the starting point of modern Chinese Literary history, moreover, its principle of "ten years generation break" has become a standard of stage-dividing for those subsequent modern Chinese literature development. The form pattern of "three big tectonic plates" which is composed by the literature theory, the literature movement and the literary work has affected the basic content of the history of modem Chinese literature afterwards. Furthermore, the four literature genre novel, prose, poetry and drama renewed the traditional literary stylistic rules of compilation thoroughly, making it became the principle of classification of genre in modern and contemporary Chinese literary history.The third chapter discusses the compiling strategy from two angles which are "Introductions" "and the body part of the work itself. In the "Introductions", the multi-dimension literature historic viewpoint, the rich school-discussion as well as the various kinds of stylistic criticism has proven the validity of the new-vernacular literature with the objective history narration. Moreover, in text compiling, it then adopts the strategy which projects the classicism in the historic scenes. The Anthology of Chinese New-vernacular literature 1917~1927 not only has indicated and confirmed large quantities of modern Chinese literature classics for us, but also retained the massive primary historical information. These" questionable text" due to the foresee or individual preference brings us rethinking of the construction of modern Chinese literature canons today.The fourth chapter elaborates the significance in the Chinese literature anthology. The author puts The Anthology of Chinese new-vernacular Hterature1917~1927 in the history river from ancient to modern literature anthology compilation, and compares The Literary Selections with The Anthology of Chinese new-vernacular literature 1917~1927, pointing out the prominence to the characteristic of The Anthology of Chinese new-vernacular literature 1917~1927. Finally, the thesis proves its classicism through its the modern-continuing feature.
