The Juyan (居延) Bamboo Slips of the Han Dynasty were unearthed in Juyan beacon site, which were administrative literature-archives recorded by the Juyan and Jianshui ((?)水) military officers in Han Dynasty. The content of them recorded garrisoncampaigns, the history of prosperity and decline of Juyan, preserved many important documents from middle Western Han Dynasty to early Eastern Han Dynasty.This essay attempt to make a tentative study on the verbs of the slips and analyze the verbs closely. giving a more detailed and comprehensive description of the grammer of ancient Chinese than many other books regarding the same subject. Attempt to reveal the overall lexical aspect which ofen use vernacular of the the Han Dynasty. Want to know the fundamental situation on the grammar and semantic of Chinese verbs in this time. It will afford profitable reference for the study of the ancient Chinese.This essay includes seven parts. At first, introducing the outline of the verbs of the bamboo slips.Secend, Investigating and explaining some important grammatical features and regular patterns in the book. Such as verb resultative construction, attributive usage, the mobile verb and directional complement construction, predicate construction, the auxiliary verbs, the psychological verbs, pivotal sentence and the force-order verb, and the expressing meaning by compounding. according to the paper concludes that verbs and adjectives which serve as the second verbs in resultative construction have changed greatly in the Han dynasty. The investigation shows that instransitivilization of V2 has its limitation. The last charpter discussed the used verbs in the slips and put all of the vebs in a chart.
