As a special history in China's feudal dynasties history, the TangDynasty not only famous for its abundant material and cultural wealthreaching the peak of the China's feudal society, but also Tang 's advancedofficial management system and perfect incentives studied by subsequentdynasties. Especially it' s excellent official assessment system, notonly played an important role in the progress of promoting the developmentof Tang Dynasty history, but also provided a very valuable experience inofficial management for the future generations as well as other countriesin the contemporary world. Exactly based on these reasons, with thetheoretical analysis methods, supplemented by examples and on theanalysis of some scholars and experts to Tang period, this paper attemptsto induct and summarize the Tang' s official assessment foundation,mechanism,assessment objects,principal,targets,methods,criterionas well as supervision mechanism, Then give a detailed analysis to eachpart of its system for its importance in human resources development andmanagement according to the modern human resources management theory,at last, have an evaluation about the exertion of the official assessmentsystem, with the hope that giving some advice on the reform of ourcountry' s public servants assessment system.
