The relationships between learning strategies and learning styles are always a focus of strategic researcher. (Oxford, 1990) Cohen (1998) pointed out that learning strategies can't take effects without learning styles, they're under the influence of learning styles. Then Reid (1995) put forward that there are mutually connection and influence between them. The author notices those belong to isolated empirical researches into English achievement. In the statistical sense, researchers analyzed main effects of learning strategies or styles on English achievement respectively. The research of interaction effect of learning styles and learning strategies into English achievement among postgraduates is therefore little researched. In this case, the author designed the study on effects of learning styles and learning strategies on learning achievements among postgraduates of medical majors. The study selects quantitative research methods, including two questionnaires. Postgraduates of medical majors in Hebei Medical University were chosen to participate in the study. 96 postgraduates were singled out to analyze his/her learning styles, learning strategies and English scores of postgraduate entrance examination. Next, The data collected are input into Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 12.0) and processed by descriptive statistic and ANOVA. The findings are as follows:1. Postgraduates of medical majors preferred individual learning styles, tactile learning styles and visual learning styles.2. Postgraduates of medical majors use most frequently are using mother tongue strategies, affective strategies, compensation strategies and management strategies.3. The two factors, learning styles and learning strategies, haven't respectively obvious effects on English achievements. In other words, we can't ensure which styles are good for study, and which strategies are bad for study. However, there is significant influence on English achievements when combining learning styles with learning strategies reasonably. Specifically, learning strategies produce significant impact on visual style learners, Individual style learners and auditory styles learners. But they produce a little impact on kinesthetic style learners and tactile style learners. In conclusion, the results from this study provide insightful implications: Theoretically, people should attach importance to interaction effects of learning styles and leaning strategies and never neglect the role of mother tongue strategies in Chinese education system. Pedagogically, the author proposed a instructional suggestion on adjusting learning strategies based on individual difference. Methodologically, ANOVA(Analysis of Variation)can be widely used in educational fields.
