| With the development of science and economy in China, more and more attention has been paid to the field of language pedagogy. Under the traditional Grammar-Translation Method, students'English levels are low, especially in the aspect of their oral and aural English. The reform of English teaching is taking place throughout China. The syllabus has been revised, testing systems have been adjusted, and English textbooks have been renewed. The aim of English teaching is directed to communicative competence in everyday interactions. Focusing on the low oral proficiency of Chinese language learners, the interactive approach is being practiced in English teaching. It can greatly and effectively improve the teaching quality and help students be more active in learning English and in thinking with the combination of the interaction between learners and teachers and the interaction among learners.To be exact, the interactive approach is a teaching method for teachers to create an interactive situation by communication and association with students, so that the teaching can be more effective. Taking the theories of social constructivism, theories of language learning, the law of foreign language learning and the communicative language teaching as the theoretical base, the interactive approach provides the college students with good learning environment, stimulates their motive in English learning, helps students become more independent and initiative and play the main part in English learning, so that it ultimately helps students improve their English levels in listening, speaking, reading, writing, etc.The interactive approach has its own merits and it suits the final target of language teaching, that is, to improve students'ability of language appliance. In this thesis, the problems that may occur in the appliance of the interactive approach are talked about and further analyzed, the teaching design and strategies have been deeply studied so that the English teaching is improved and the reform of English teaching is further taken into action. The study of the-communicative-language-teaching-based interactive approach has realized the application of the interactive approach in the practice of English teaching; it brings new ideas to the theoretical study of language teaching in China; it is perfecting and developing the language teaching approaches; it provides a new way of language teaching for language teachers. |
