Leonard Talmy,in her book Toward A Cognitive Semantics(2000), defined the cognitive pattern of veridically unequal discrepant representations of the same object as"the partten of general fictivity", and , based on this, introduced the cognitive concept of"fictive motion".This paper uses the concept of fictive motion Talmy proposed, focuses on the study of two types of fictive motions in Chinese language:the fictive motion in the expressions of static spacial relationships and the fictive motions in the expressions of mental activities. This paper put forward the principal features distinguishing categories of fictive motion in Chinese language, summarized the syntactic frame and the basic categories of the fictive motions in the expressions of static spacial relationships and mental activities, and the paper also provieded unifying principles and explanatory factors for the two types of fictive motions.
