On Foucault's Aesthetics Of Existence

Combined with Foucault's academic ideology, thinking mode andpersonal life experiences ,taking Foucault's aesthetics of existence as itsconcrete research objects, regarding Zhi ren lun shi (resorting to thebiographical background and social-historical context of the author)as itsguiding principle, this paper tries to explore Foucault's aesthetics ofexistence from the following aspects which includes his academicthinking mode, his personal life experiences and his theoretical resources.This paper consists of three parts. The foreword firstly introducesFoucault's important influence in the academic history, then tracks theresearch trends on Foucault's aesthetics of existence and points out theshortage, lastly presents the possible significance of the paper. The mainbody of this paper includes three parts. The first chapter primarilyoutlines the transformation of research objects in West aesthetics history,points out that it is Nietzsche that realized the transformation of researchfrom receptor's aesthetics to provider's aesthetics, but Nietzsche'saesthetics is still a kind of metaphysical one. Then Foucault gave afurther development on receptor's aesthetics and brought the aestheticmetaphysics into the daily life. It is Foucault that realized thetransformation of research from other-aesthetics to self-aesthetics. Thesecond chapter primarily surveys Foucault's aesthetics from his personallife experiences and academic ideology, indicates that doubt and negationis its existent precondition, self and times is its existent foundation,soma and resistance is its realizable way. The third chapter generalizesthe theoretical resources and places emphasis on exploring the theoreticalconnotation of Foucault's aesthetics of existence. The conclusionprincipally discusses the revelation of Foucault's aesthetics of existence. Combined with contemporary existent environments and living state ofChinese intellectuals, this paper points out that to know the revelation ofFoucault's aesthetics of existence exactly, the dialectical analysis isnecessary.
