Gehong, a key person in Taoism Religion, established Immortal Taoism and formed Immortal Taoism system. His immortal thinking combined with Confucianism, advanced theories of Taoism. He claims moral cultivation as a way of exercising Immortal Practice so as to acquire the official support and promotes Taoism. The significant feature of his Immortal view is to strongly associate the human world with the Immortal. His Theory of Immortal existence in human world, Theory of Immortal and Theory of human transformation of Immortal, are the content of his Immortal view. His Theory of Taking gold tablet enable human instantly to become immortal, and Theory of practicing in the world without being a recluse, are the innovation and reformation to the religion of Taoism, which greatly influenced the later development of Taoism. His"Worldly Immortal"doctrine is of great value in the history development of Taoism Philosophy, which can be found itself in life philosophy and scientific thinking. His sharp spirit of reformation, his optimistic view:"I'm in control of my life but not the heaven"and his attention to the moral education are meaningful both to the Taoism revival and the contemporary social goal, namely,"establishing a harmonious society".
