A Study On The Phenomena Of Polysyllable Chinese Trademark Names In Guangdong Province

The present paper investigates the phenomenon of multi-syllabletrend in the trade mark name with example of the register trade marks ofGuangdong province since 1980's. It analyzes the characteristic oflanguage structure of multi-syllable trade mark name from the number ofsyllables, morphology syntax, prosody in Chinese, the types ofmorphemes, and etc. according to strict inquiry. This paper also discussesthe process of the phenomenon of multi-syllable trend in the trade markname, and the complex reasons of the production and development of thephenomenon of multi-syllable trend. At the same time it also observesthat the phenomenon of multi-syllable trend may affect the system oflanguage. At last this paper points out some criterions aimed at currentmulti-syllable trade mark name and predicts the phenomenon ofmulti-syllable trend in the trade mark name.
