This paper starts from Wang Zhenyi, the poetess of Qing dynasty, based on heronly poem collection DeFengTing Chuji. By close textual reading and otherdocumentary materials, the paper aims at solving there questions: firstly, the papergives a relatively detailed portrait of her life, with reference to her important friendsand acquaintances. According to other documentaries, this paper gives a general mapof her works, existing and lost; secondly, with reference to the time spirit and generalcharacteristics of the middle period of Qing dynasty (especially the JiaQing period),the paper carefully divides the whole poems of Wang Zhenyi to three groups: poemscomposed for Chinese portraits and on materials, poems composed in traveling andpoems composed on life, from the angel of thought, content and style. The papermanages to give a true, exact and fair evaluation on the poems that Wang Zhenyi wasone of the female pioneers who had made great and distinct achievements in theliterary genre and artistic style. Finally, the paper focuses on further discussion ofDeFengTing Chuji from the feminism point of view, based on other related materialssuch as letters, prefaces and her own poems. The paper gets a conclusion that from theviewpoint of a female, Wang Zhenyi got new idea on the everlasting topic betweentalent and morality that her strong support of morality, the essence of Confucius, andher newly extended idea on talent. At last, the paper gives a retrospective view oftalent and morality and points out that she was in and at the same time out of her time.
