The Euclideandistance and the principal component analysis are used in this paper as two methods of the statistical multianalysis. The analysis focuses on the twenty-one measure items of residents'skulls in twenty-one groups in the age of the pre-Ch'in, lived in the middle and the lower area of the Yellow River and other area surrounding. Then the further analysis is given combined with the archaeological culture briefly. There are six parts in this paper. The first part is about the general introduction of the natural and geographical condition and the archaeological culture in the middle and the lower area of the Yellow River. Following is the statement about the purpose and the significance of the research in this paper. In the second part, the former research and results on the physical characteristics of residents in this area are collected as more as possible; the valuable experiences worthy of using for reference are absorbed at the same time. The third part gives the show about the material of chosen skeletons and the used method of the statistical multianalysis in this paper. The forth part is about the results and the discussion. According to the exact calculation, the reasonable results about the typological division of the physical characteristics of residents in this area are discussed. Combined with the archaeological culture, reasons causing the regional differences are presumed simply. The fifth part is about the comparison between residents in the middle and the lower area of the Yellow River and ancient residents in the surrounding area in the age of the pre-Ch'in. Basing on the comparison, most Neolithic residents in the middle and the lower area of the Yellow River are identified as the type lived in the central area of the ancient China. What's more, the differences of each type are so clear that the division of the types of the regional ancient ethnic group is reasonable. The last part is the epilogue about the summary of the five parts hereinbefore and the discussion of the deficiency in this paper.
