Eavetiles excavated from sites of the Bohai state are considered as the mainly objects to be researched on in this paper. Here, the relics from the site of Longquanfu, Baliancheng and Xigucheng are taken as the primary, and those from other sites are as the supplementary. According to the typological analysis and the time compartmentalization, the developmental rule and the evolvemental track of the eavetiles are discussed elementarily. There are six parts in this paper. The first one is the foreword. Here the content of the research in this paper is given, including the range of the space, the character of the research object, the material and methods used in the research, the explanation of some relative notions and definitions, the purpose and the latest results in this paper. The second part gives the brief summary about the former and the present research and theoretical conclusions domestic and overseas. The third part is about the typological analysis on the eavetiles. There are three kinds of eavetiles-- some with the typical lotus pattern, some with the special lotus pattern and the rest with other patterns. The first kind is divided into five sorts, twenty types and thirty-six sub-types, according to the differences of petals'number, the combinations of the central parts and the patterns between two petals. What's more, the samples are listed with obvious marks in detail. There are five sorts of patterns in the second kind and the third kind respectively, but no more typological analysis given about them. The forth part is about the phases and the times. There are three phases divided, based on the typological analysis about the eavetiles from Longquanfu, Baliancheng and Xigucheng mostly, combining with these three sites'constructional order. Further more, there is a presumption that the third phase could be probably divided into two stages ulteriorly, the earlier one and the later one. Following is the discussion about the characteristics of the eavetiles and the general time of each phase. The fifth part is about the relative aspects. Here gives the short statement about some other results via the research on the eavetiles and some ideas about the phenomena discovered during the observation on the architectural relics from sites of the Bohai state. The last part is the epilogue.
