Theory of Reception-Response is one of the most important schools of the Western criticism in 20th century. On the early 1980s, it was introduced by domestic scholars, and was combined with the research of Chinese Literature. This paper focuses on the combination of the Western Reception-Response Theory and the study of Chinese Modern Literature, discussing the achievements and shortcomings of the Reception Studies and Effect Studies in the field of the Study of Chinese Modern Literature, as well as the complex interaction between the Western Theory of Reception-Response and the Study of Chinese Modern Literature.This paper is divided into the following four parts:Chapter One In this chapter, we want to discuss the research of the Reception-Response Theory made by domestic scholars, including introduction, translation and the deepens of the fundamental research; this research has laid the solid foundation for the deepens of the academic and launches of criticism practice.Chapter Two In this chapter, On the basis of learning from the large number of existing research results, we want to discuss the Reception Studies and Effect Studies of the Study of Chinese Modern Literature. The former is mainly influenced by theory ideas of Jauss, pays attention to excavate the reader theory and reader's reception thought of Chinese Modern Literature, carry on the writing attempt of the Accept History, discuss the reception situation of the writers, the texts, the literary schools and literary phenomenon, and analyze the texts using Horizon of Expectations; while the latter is mainly influenced by theory ideas of Iser, revolving a series of important concepts such as Blank, Convening Structure, and The Implied Reader to research the texts carefully and deeply, in order to examine the process of the interaction and communication between the text and the reader.Chapter Three In this chapter, we want to conclude the achievements and shortcomings of the Reception Studies and Effect Studies in the field of the Study of Chinese Modern Literature, as well as the complex interaction between the Western Theory of Reception-Response and the Study of Chinese Modern Literature.Conclusion In this chapter, what we will think about is something caused by the Reception Studies and Effect Studies in the field of the Study of Chinese Modern Literature, as well as its prospect for development.
