The inscriptive writings are miscellanea or prose which are appended behind the carriers. They evaluate or interpretate or descript or random talk about the originals in short freedom character. Although its origin can be traced back to the Han and Jin Dynasties, But the value of the style and the expansion of the use were improved in the hands of the Northern Song Dynasty scholar . This phenomenon is related to the inspiring society, the evolution of prose internal elements and the mental characters of the writers. From the existing inscriptive writings research, if scholars addressed the inscriptive writings in Northern Song Dynasty, they certainly represented SuShi and HuangTingjian. But there is a bias that SuShi is main and Huang Tingjian is secondary. It is unfair. Even there are specialized articles for HuangTingjian inscriptive writings research, they partially explore. The cultural and aesthetic value of Huang Tingjian inscriptive writings were not properly excavated. My paper has consciously overcome these shortcomings, Aggregated achievement of HuangTingjian inscriptive writings, basically completed the systematic study. From the genre-study perspective, the research gains an overall grasp of inscriptive writings for the first time, has makes a positive advance to ShanGu prose study. It can compensate the neglection of Huang Tingjian prose study in the 58 years from new China founding, more comprehensively grasp Huang Tingjian profound ideas, mature art and noble personality.The inscriptive writings of Huang Tingjian greatly embodied the academic and cultural prosperity in Song dynasty, the marks of the new exploitation and development of inscriptive writings' content and art. At the same time, his inscriptive writings exhibited the nature and cultivation of scholar-bureaucrats in Song dynasty. He was the excellent composers of the inscriptive writers. His inscriptive writings represent the highly creative achievements. This paper is from the horizontal and vertical direction to study in-depth. Longitudinally I put it under the historical development of the style, reveal his contribution that he successfully advanced this style and made the style mature with SuShi. Laterally I sum up the cultural background and his experience, reveal the subjective and objective impact of creation, Compare with SuShi inscriptive writings to display the same and the exotic, fully demonstrate the artistic personality of HuangTingjian inscriptive writings.The paper consists of six parts: The introduction describes the importance of my research including that summarize the authoritative literary criticism in the history and the current academic research degree about HuangTingjian inscriptive writings, show the significance of the paper topics. In the first chapter, the signification of inscriptive writings is defined. The origin and the course of it's development are discussed. The value of HuangTingjian's inscriptive writings is pointed out. In the second chapter, the conditions that were good to HuangTingjian's inscriptive writing is analysed. The chapter focuses on the level of learning and culture in Song dynasty, the development of prose and the writer's interests, which all actively affected Huang Tingjian's inscriptive writing.In the third chapter, the deploitation and innovation of Tingjian's inscriptive writings in the subject matter, the form, the expression and the interests are discussed. In the fourth chapter also compares Su Shi's inscriptive writings with Huang Tingjian's inscriptive writings. In the end, the paper summarized the status of HuangTingjian's inscriptive writings in history. In the paper it is thought that HuangTingjian is the summit of prose and culture of Song dynasty, he and SuShi got the greatest achievements in the exponential of inscriptive writings.
