As a movie fan who is a linguistic student, the writer proposes the pragmalinguistic approach the quality of humor in movies.From a pragmalinguistic perspective, the present thesis analyzes the successful humor in movies, which aims to summarize the ways of humor creating in movies from the audience's stance. By the pragmalinguistic perspective, the writer means to investigate humor in its practical situation on the basis of relevant linguistic theories and principles, emphasizing the humor exchanging between the participants. Meanwhile, the thesis also seeks to identify the underlying reasons of the ineffective humor in movies in hope of making some possible suggestions to filmmakers.The thesis attempts to find answers to the following two questions:1.
