With Hu Shih and Luo Longki as the representatives, Xinyue School initiated an ideological movement from 1929 to 1931 and published a great number of political articles in Xinyue Monthly to fight for human rights and laws and regulations. In the articles they expressed their dissatisfaction to the autarchy of Kuomintang as well as their dissidence towards the theory and practice of Communist Party. Their ideas produced a fairly great impact to the society at that time. Focusing on the liberalism political ideology of Xinyue School mentioned above, this dissertation tries to help people get acquainted with the political features of the liberalists in China around the year of 1930. In addition, the author studies the modernity of the ideas of Xinyue School, hoping to produce some implications for today's social changes.The main body of this dissertation is consisted of three parts. The first part is about the development of Xinyue School. In this part, the origin of the school is introduced as well as its development, polarization and finality. As for the magazine Xinyue Monthly, the author counts up the number of the political articles published in the magazine by the school in order to analyze their political ideology.The second part illustrates the liberalism of political ideology of Xinyue School. Based on the analysis of the political articles by Xinyue School, this part discusses the so-called"Chinese problems"from the background of its origin to the proposed plans for solution in the eyes of Xinyue School. The author focuses on the school's ideas of human rights and law, and the attitude towards Kuomintang and CPC, etc., to reveal both the strongpoints and shortcomings of this ideology, and analyze the modernity of the ideology, which can be used for references.The third part is the author's evaluation of the political ideology of Xinyue School. In this part, the author reviews the influence produced by the liberalism of the school's political ideology, analyzes the reasons why it failed, and evaluates the progress and limitations of the ideology.
