Recasts in the present study is one kind of implicit corrective feedback, which involves the teachers' utterances immediately following the students' non-target-like utterances that reformulate part or all of the utterances while maintaining the central meaning in classroom teaching. This empirical research is attempting to interpret the relationship between the students'learning effects and the learners'language level, the recasts methods as well as the consistency and intensity of recasts. It turns out that the learners'with higher language level benefit more from the recasts methods while the two methods show no difference in the learners studying subjunctive mood. As what was predicted, the consistency and intensity contribute to the learners'progress in studying subjunctive mood. Whereas, the difference is not apparent. Therefore, we can arrive to this conclusion: Recasts is limitedly effective for Chinese college students learning.
