A Study Of Euphony Rhetoric In Chinese

As a kind of rhetoric method by using same or similar pronunciation form to have some expression results, euphony in Chinese is rich and varied and therefore widely applied in the daily life. In this paper we have made an investigation to euphony and paid much more attention to its manifestation both in different folkways and styles of writing. This thesis consists of seven parts. In the first part we have tried to put forward a definition of the euphony and further to analyze its position in the study of rhetoric; In the second part, the euphony phenomenon has been classified according to different dimensions such as function and culture, etc; In the third part we have given the euphony's characteristics wider coverage to deal with the different reflections in the fields of pronunciation, grammar, semantic meaning and context; In the fourth part, we have analyzed the formation of euphony from the point of aesthetics, psychology, social culture and linguistic characters, etc; Base on what is discussed above the euphony phenomenon both in different folkways and styles of writing have been studied in the fifth and sixth parts; And the final seventh part is the conclusion.
