Compared with the lifecycle of some famous overseas brands, that of many domestic brands are rather short, even some suffer failure or disappear in the market at the debut of the market. Nowadays, it's on a common focus that how to enlonger the lifecycle of product to increase the income of enterprise.Today, when the products homogenize, design, which is being paid increasing attention, has become a new impetus for national economy. Color, as the most direct sense, has close relation with consumers. Moreover, color consumption, as a new consumption sense, has been widely applied in sales in many enterprises in Europe and U.S.A. and other countries, which becomes a strategy in getting competitive advantage. In order to meet the sensibility need of consumers in the lifecycle of a product, we need consider not only shape design and function but also color design that is rather necessary part during the designing process, as color is the most typical aspect in sensibility need.This essay brings concept of product's lifecycle into color design and discusses the relation between color and product's lifecycle. Then, it concludes methods of color design, being based on the color sales of product's lifecycle and color design of product, by applying the theories and methods of sales, color, philosophy, popular color, etc. This essay is consisted with six chapters and described as per the organization structure as follow:Chapter 1 is the introduction where sets force on general idea, main investigating methods, background and signification of the subject.Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 illustrate some theories in color, color culture and product's lifecycle, and introduce the points needing focusing and sales strategy for product's lifecycle.Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 are the principle part of this essay. Chapter 4 illustrates color strategy plan of product's lifecycle and the important points needing focusing with the description of sales strategy of product's lifecycle. Meanwhile, here it gives confirmation to the effect of color sales on increasing income and enlongering product's lifecycle. In Chapter 5, it presents research of products and design in different stages of product's lifecycle. What's more, it presents some suggestions to color design of product: Firstly, position the product and make research in colors in the market. Then, it combines the concept of product's lifecycle as per material, position, process, motivation and color culture etc., so as to realize the best color design.Chapter 6 is the conclusion of the research result. It also previews the inter-function between color and product's lifecycle.
