Since the last 90's, great changes have taken place in Shanghai. The literary performances and writings centralizing Shanghai constitute and consolidate"Shanghai hot"in literature. Articles about cities have become the way authors imagine the city. Wang Anyi's full-length novel, Everlasting Regret becomes an outstanding work of this"Shanghai hot". Everlasting Regret may be regarded as text of"reminiscence", or the text of animadverting it. Afterward, Everlasting Regret is reorganized into various forms of stage play, movie, and television drama. These reorganizations show different ways of imagination on Shanghai.This paper is going to present Shanghai in the novel, Everlasting Regret, and observe the product and consumption of this reorganization and compare Wang Anyi with"Shanghai hot". Wang Anyi expresses his abundant thinking on reminiscence and the history of Shanghai. In the course of reorganizing, the old amorous feelings of Shanghai in the novel is focused, Wang Qiyao and others'living fulfillment and conversions of comprehension are considered an adhesion to detail and tasty. The socialism period of Shanghai was discarded and kept out of recounting history .The history of Shanghai was converted into the story of Petty Bourgeois.
