Anne Rice is an American contemporary writer, who is famous for writing vampire novels. Her representative work is The Vampire Chronicles, which is called the Bible of vampires by vampire fans and vampire researchers. In The Vampire Chronicles, she overthrows the traditional rigid figure of the vampire, shows the truth of realistic world by describing unrealistic world, digs arcanum of the deep human nature from vampires'inner being, and then reflects certain lays of the existent state, the way of thinking, and the sticking point of mind, which exist in current society and people of current society, and then adds new moral to vampire's mysterious motif of western civilization.In the perspective of Religion, the whole The Vampire Chronicles does overthrow or rebel inherent ethical relation in religion and fairy tale. By thinking about vampire's"atheism", it shows the loss of faith in contemporary people's hearts, and the crisis of spirit which be aroused by the loss of faith.In the perspective of philosophy, vampires'existent predicament shows individual smallness and helpless, it shows people in modern society get into alone and despairing circumstances.In the perspective of Psychoanalysis, the combat of vampire's underlying humanity and fairyhood shows the people of the time inherent the destruct desires of confronting society and the helpless and surrender to reality.In the perspective of Sociology, the shape of vampire figure shows that the people of the time transfer and vent anti-society sentiments, and reflects that the retiredness of disadvantaged groups and heretics in society and they how to pursuit selfhood, and more includes question to mainstream culture and the care of marginal men.
