Based on given research, this thesis makes a detailed study on analogism and its application to argumentation. It first introduces the development and application of analogism from a historical perspective. Then, the argumentation argument and argumentation characters of analogism are expounded in details. First, the author analogizes the argumentation grounds of analogism to argumentation from the analogism's occurrence, employment and ontological perspective. Then, anlogyze argumentation characters when analogism applied to argumentation, namely, fairness, openness and vividness. Third, it deals with the various types and methods of argumentation when analogism is applied to argumentation. The types can be divided into different classifications as follows:Classification based on objectives: proof argumentation, refute argumentation, which can be further divided into Jianyan(借言)and Jianshi(借实) and Jianli(借理)if classified from its construction, and comprehensive argumentation.Classification based on construction: metaphorical argumentation, parody, absurd argumentation and inductive argumentation.Apart from used alone, the application of analogism to argumentation can also be used together with deduction or induction. When employed with deduction, deduction can go first and then follows analogy or vice verse. When used with inductive, simple enumeration is often employed and either induction or analogy can be used first. Finally, we analyze their similarities from the perspectives of psychological ground of composition, objective foundation, types of argumentation and formation through metaphor, etc. as well as their differences from the perspectives of construction, pragmatic effect, pragmatic strategy and language style, etc. since analogism and induction to absurdity are often used combine and closely connected on the one hand, but they are two different argumentations on the other hand.
