The first part of this thesis carries out a contrastive analysis of the 8,822 words in Chinese Proficiency Test Vocabulary Guideline and the 12,635 Korean Hanja words for educational usage. Then we focus on 2,693 Chinese-Korean Homographs based on previous analysis. Next, we analyze and label these words from the aspects of Second language acquisition and teaching Chinese as a foreign language, as well as cognitive science. In the second part, we carry out error analysis on those Chinese-Korean Homographs and focus on the language transfer as one of the main causes of the errors. Then we try to propose Communicative Approach as an effective approach for Korean students to learn Chinese vocabulary. In the next part, we applied previous study to computer-assisted language learning with network-based communicative learning environment. We first propose Communicative Gap Model caused by meaning differences between Chinese and Korean, and then design a software named Hanja-simsn which can observe the conversation based on Chinese characters, and look for the communicative gap according to the Communicative Gap Model and Chinese-Korean Homographs database. When learners use a homograph which might cause communicative gap in their utterance, Hanja-simsn will automatically intervene into the conversation and offer relevant knowledge in order to bridge the gap in conversation. This software also provides means to help Korean learners to correct the errors caused by interlanguage differences, eventually, achieving the goal of mastering and using the target word correctly and properly .
