A Comment To Professor Chen Changshu's Philosophy Of Technology

Professor Chen Changshu is a domestic famous scholar who researches technological philosophy; he also is one of the founders of China's technological philosophy. As a scholar, he unceasing examines the question which discovered in the study, and displays the intense questionable consciousness. As a technological philosopher, he devotes to research philosophy questions which relevant with technology, and unifies the theory and the practice.Chen Changshu early started to pay attention to the question on philosophy of science and technology; he thought it was necessary to establish the independent technological philosophy system in our country. At the beginning of 1982, they discussed the policy on the basic research and the enhancement applied research. Especially, when he thought about application view, he explicitly realized the importantly and essential difference between the technology and the science. So he started to research from technology history, proposed explicitly the view of demarcation between science and technology, established Philosophy of Technology's independent status in our country. Simultaneously he emphasized it was important to see the unification between science and technology on the base of difference between them, and analyzed the process of the science to the technology, highlighted the technological intermediary function. The view of demarcation between science and technology has the important guiding sense to transform the science into the productive forces. He refuted the viewpoint that technology is the applied science, proposed that we can not think the technology is simply the knowledge or one kind of knowledge system, it also includes the intelligent essential factor and the reality essential factor, and it is that these essential factor union activity and the dynamic process. His view of demarcation between science and technology provides a theoretical basis for formulation of the correct policy on technology, especially provided the theoretical guidance for handling for the current relationship between basic research and applied research, it was advantageous to develop the science and the technical enterprise in our country.This article mainly states the development course and connotation of Chen Changshu's the view of demarcation between science and technology, and based on this idea to explore Chen Changshu's philosophy of technology.
