In a short period of about two hundred years, the United States, as a typical capitalist country, has become a powerful nation in the world from the British colony, one of the reasons is that its political system has adapted to and promoted economic development at full speed. The United States is not a headstream of modern democratic system, but it is one of the earliest countries that put the political ideas such as natural rights, The Social Contract, separation of powers and people sovereignty brought forward by the European Enlightenment scholars into practice in the world.Through various angle and multiple factors, the author tries to study the connotation of American democratic politics from colonial era to foundation of America. The thesis consists of preface, the main body, the conclusion and the reference. In preface, the author introduces the historical evolution of western democratic politics and the characteristics of American democratic politics in early time, as well as the present state for scholars to study democratic politics at home and abroad. By analysing embryo of American democratic politics---colony parliament, the first chapter of the main body focuses on one of the connotation of democratic politics ---the system of Representative democracy. Its existence makes the colonies in North American become the society including most democratic ingredient in the world at that time ;The second part focuses on the "Declaration of Independence ", which indicated the theory of democracy and freedom ,emphasized the inviolability of the natural rights, and foundation for the democratic system; Chapter 3 points out that Federal Constitution of 1787 stipulates the American fundamental political structure---separation of powers with check and balance, which is a guarantee that makes America the model among the capitalist countries to rule a nation legally. The conclusion is: the American democracy is the mixture of England and French democratic politics, and without doubt, it is the most advanced, modernized and promising political system at the end of 18 century. The establishment of American democratic politics is one of the great contributions to modern bourgeois democratic system, and it has proposed one kind of possible model for the bourgeoisie to reform their country's political system. For China's political democratization process, we may transform and make use of some methods and forms of capitalism democracy critically.
