Study On The Influencing Factors Of Suicide Ideation Among Undergraduates In Anhui Provinces

Objective To survey the prevalence of suicide ideation of undergraduates in Anhui province,and to analyze the prevalence of suicide ideation in different demographic characteristics undergraduates,and also to explore the relationship between the quality of life,social support ,negative life events and suicide ideation among undergraduate in colleges.Methods Stratified sampling was used to select three colleges from different cities,county and provincial center city,then cluster sampling was used to select classes in the three colleges,at last,3517 undergraduates were recruited in this study. Take the mental health survey of the 3517 undergraduates by means of the self-edit general questionnaire and Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation(BSSI),Generic Quality of Life Inventory(GQOLI), Adolescent Self-rate Life Events Checklist(ASLEC),Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS).Univariate and multivariate logistic regression were used to analyze the influencing factors of suicide ideation.Results Among 3517 undergraduates who were investigated,The incidence rate of the undergraduates who had the suicide attempt with in 7 days was 14.1%, The prevalence of suicide ideation of female was higher than that of male(χ²=8.73,P=0.003). And the prevalence of suicide ideation was also higher in disabled undergraduates(χ²=6.39,P=0.011),single-parent family(χ²=26.45,P<0.001) and disappointed love(χ²=19.08,P<0.001),while that was lower in senior education level of their father(χ_{趋势}²=13.16, P<0.001),and all of the difference were significant. In those undergraduates who had disappointed love,the prevalence of suicide ideation of female was higher than that of male(χ²=26.73,P<0.001), and which was also higher in female students who had abortion experiences(χ²=121.62,P<0.001).In addition,the main risk factors which influence the birth of suicide ideation of undergraduate were lower psychological function,material life,lower support,lower availability of support and more negative life events.Conclusions Suicidal ideation is common among undergraduates. More researches should be conducted for prevention. Counseling in coping strategy could be useful. Effective measures should be taken to prevent the incidence of suicidal ideation. Suicidal behavior in colleges can be prevented through changing some social factors, eliminating risk factors and strengthening the protective factors.
