The"Qing Ping Shan Tang Huaben", whose given name is"Liu Shi Jia Xiaoshuo", which is published by Hong Pian in Qian Tang in Ming Dynasty, is the earliest story-telling script total collection at present. It collected sixty old story-telling scripts from Song to Ming Dynasty. As the series was not too much revised by Hong Pian, it contained the original style of the Song-Yuan story-telling scripts. As the present research materials is concerned, the old Song-Yuan story-telling script in form of single article has been very few, therefore, the"Qing Ping Shan Tang Huaben"becomes an important raw material in study of Chinese classical novel since it was published. Ma Lian, who is the major collector and denominator of this book, said it"holds the extremely important position in Chinese novel history."And various works of literature history, have also given the full affirmation to it on the important role in the novel history. But compared with its critical status, the research of it is actually insufficient. In ancient China, vernacular novel was considered less in implications. The creation of novel is few, and the research of it is more less. Until the Ming and Qing Dynasty, along with the prosperity of the novel creation, the related research has been to thriving. There are many famous researchers in this time, such as Jin Shengtan, Mao Zonggang, Zhang Zhupo and so on. But generally speaking, their study was mainly focus on commentary, and their discussions were scattered. To modern times, with the "novel revolution" has been popular, the concept of novel combined with "Pragmatism" gradually. The status of novel enhanced, the creation and research of it were more popular. In 1923, Mr. Lu Xun's work――"A Brief History of the Chinese novel" has been a symbol of maturity of Chinese novel's research, and provided the reference model for the later researchers. Although Mr. Lu Xun was not seen this book, his evaluation on the Song-Yuan story-telling scripts was very high, referred it as "a big change in fiction history". The involvement of many scholars, such as Lu Xun, Hu Shi, Zheng Zhenduo, Sun Kaidi and so on, pushed the research of story-telling scripts to the depth. Among them, Malian named and published 25 articles from Japanese cabinet library as "Qing Ping Shan Tang Huaben" officially, and he obtained another 12 articles from Tian-yi Pavilion, Ning Bo after soon. Then A Ying also found two remnant articles. So far, there were 29 articles totally, which still named as "Qing Ping Shan Tang Huaben". From then on, the study on this book was begun to deep and wide. There were some scholars, such as Tan Zhengbi, Zhao Jingshen, Hu Shiying, Cheng Yizhong, have spent a lot of energy and efforts on it, and have made great achievements. However, overall speaking, the senior scholars pointed to focus on the origin of story and works' determination, systemic slightly insufficient. With cultural exchanges increasingly deepened, many Western literary criticism and thought gradually introduced to China. How to assimilate them as a reference and guide the Chinese classical novel research, became a critical problem for the current academia. From this, the paper combined with these scholars' study results, made further consolidation and assessment of "Qing Ping Shan Tang Huaben", in the hope to have a more comprehensive grasp, to have some new discovery and new harvest. To specific chapters: For the introduction, the author want to solve two problems, one is to give an exact stylistic definition of " story-telling script", the other is to explore the characteristics of the story-telling novel from "story-telling" to "story-telling script". For the first chapter, the first step is to reference and collate senior scholars' research results, to grasp the research object from many aspects. The second step is to explore the real edition reason about this work, combined with western psychoanalysis method, in the hope for new breakthroughs. For the second chapter, the critical point is to considerate overall narrative features and to grasp the narrative law of this work, guided by Western narrative theories. Finally, for the third chapter, the goal is to discuss its influence and significance on later literature from macroscopic analysis.
