Ma Lihua is a famous prose writer in contemporary times in China. Her serialized proses-"A Walk in the Tibet"-has distinctive style, and was a sensational best seller for one time. But the academic studies on her are not in-depth and comprehensive now, so this thesis is to study deeply and systematically on her proses basing on thorough reading, the aim is revealing her proses' modern cultural significance. This thesis consists of following chapters:Prologue: Introduce briefly the creation and research status of Ma Lihua's proses.Chapter One: Ma Lihua's proses and the Tibetan Buddhism culture. The Tibetan Buddhism culture is the core of the Tibetan culture, Ma Lihua's proses are related to it tightly.The proses not only reflect plentiful phenomena of the Tibetan Buddhism culture, represent writer's standpoints of religion, but also display various artistic techniques which makes the Tibetan Buddhism culture vividly.Chapter Two: Ma Lihua's proses' vital consciousness. This chapter embarks the discussion from the vital consciousness plot, discusses three characters in vital consciousness of Ma Lihua's proses: setting her life as the price on writing, the comprehension and desire of freedom and hardship, describing life scenes basing on caring for life. The discussion points out that Ma Lihua's proses take on intense vital consciousness.Chapter Three: Ma Lihua's proses' artistic values. This chapter analyses Ma Lihua's proses' epistemic value and aesthetic value, points out that her proses can improve readers' knowledge and aesthetic experience.Conclusion: Through expounding the development of the Culture prose at the end of 1900s in China, this part points out the significance and the limitation of Ma Lihua's proses.
