Research On "Prima Pratica" And "Seconda Pratica"

This research is focused on the concepts of prima pratica and seconda pratica in 17^th century. By reviewing historical data to repeat the famous "Artusi-Monteverdi Controversy." Through analyzing the controversial points and focus on the discussion of the arguments of Artusi-Monteverdi Controversy and G·Zarlino's publication in 1558, The Isitituzioni armoniche, and by using the concept of malodia, assess and finding the similarity and difference of the two main stream theory. The controversical debating core points would be the relationship and harmony. It's also the topic that theorists and composers concerns a lot about in the 16^th century Renaissance period.This research also tries to distinguish the relationship between words and harmony in two aspects. (Music enables the words with more clarity and easy for listening, moreover, music expresses the meaning and feelings of words.) A historical research background is also included, not only on the historical, social and other relevant events, but also provides a new overall view of the concepts of prima pratica and seconda pratica.
