Characteristics Of Aero-English And Its Simplicity Expressions Translation Methods

With a tendency of language simplification, the goal of the present translations in EST studies should be set at the examination on the translation of abbreviations, especially when there are no proper equivalences for the terms in the target language.In order to convey information clearly and decently, people employ various kinds of styles to express their exact meanings. There are various textual styles in Aero-English, for instance, radiotelephony communications between pilots and the control towers, specialized books and documents, etc.This paper discusses the C.P. principles raised by Grice, because in Aero- English, pilots communicate with the radiotelephony tower on the basis of the theory. When we translate Aero-English into Chinese, we base on the linguistic features of Aero-English as simplicity and the equivalence in translation with the guidance of interpretive theory.This paper approaches different abbreviated forms utilized in Aero-English and the appropriate techniques in interpretation. The article focuses on the characters of Aero-English and the equivalence in translating field. It argues that, for the abbreviations frequently used in flight training, different translating methods should be engaged in accordance with the abbreviations' syllabic length, frequency and the listeners" familiarity. The interpretive theory will be employed when we simultaneously interpret the dialogues between the pilots and the control tower.
